Mechanical Keyboard For Mac

BestMechanical Keyboards for MaciMore2019

I need a beefier typing experience. With that said, my question is simple. For those of you who peruse mechanical keyboards for your Mac, which would be best? I want one with key caps for Mac specific keys. Preferably, one with ALPS switches, but I've heard bad things about Matias keyboards, and the Das Keyboard I desire is $50 out of my price. I can't compete with @Altis but I have two mechanical keyboards, a Windows-layout G.Skill KM780 (Cherry MX Brown switches) and a Mac-layout Das Keyboard 4 Professional (with Greetech brown switches). Between the two I have to admit that I like the G.Skill better, but it doesn't come in Mac layout. Programmability: One advantage of mechanical keyboards over non-mechanical options is that you can customize many of them to change the default behavior of certain keys and have them perform other actions. The simplest way is to use DIP switches on the bottom of a keyboard that alter the layout or behavior of a few keys. For example, you can switch between Windows and Mac layouts, swap the Caps Lock key to Ctrl, or disable OS-specific keys like the Windows or Command keys. Many current Mac keyboards are not mechanical – pushing a key pushes two membranes together, which sends an electrical current to your Mac to tell it to produce a letter. Mechanical keyboards have physical switches, which make them louder, and ensure you really know when you've pressed a key. A lot of folks are going back to mechanical keyboards since the 'mushy' keyboards of today aren't responsive enough. If you miss the clickety-clackety keyboards of yore, then check these out!

Das Keyboard 4 Professional gives you the choice between Cherry MX Brown or Blue, depending on how loud you like your keyboard, and it even has dedicated media controls, including an oversized volume knob, as well as a number pad. Two USB 3.0 ports make it perfect for the ultra-productive folks.

Rainbow backlighting is the prettiest backlighting, and AUKEY does it well with its inexpensive keyboard, which may have Outemu Blue switches, but they still feel like MX Cherry switches and provide excellent tactile feedback. Wireless Mechanical Keyboard For Mac

The dissatisfying keyboards that come with Macs aren't enough for some people. If you like real key feedback and that satisfying clicking sound, pick up a mechanical keyboard.
